Journalistic Style Photography

In this blog I will be analysing the journalistic styled photos of Dan Baker. Dan Baker is a photographer that is mainly known for his pictures taken at Cleethorpes beach and his way of taking the pictures so that it has that spark that looks nice and draws attention through its special look. In order to make a photo more professional and eye-catching you need to consider three things which are point of interest, angles and the rule of thirds. The point of interest being taking a clear photo of something without too many things in it so it doesn't look messy and make the objective clear. Angles are self-explanatory as taking a picture from a good angle to make the picture look better and more friendly. The rule of thirds is the positioning of the point of in interest on one of the lines of composition in order to make the composition more dynamic. The following pictures down below were the top 3 most interesting shots taken in my opinion.

This first picture is really clear as you can see the point of interest, the angle and the rule of thirds used and it is quite a good shot taken as it he captured the exact moment when the women was smiling which is good timing and can transmit certain moods to people.

This second picture is also good even though the point of interest is not necessarily clear but the view of the beach with the chains and chairs in the shot gives a certain look to it that is amazing.

This shot was taken with a point and not necessarily to show the beauty of a view but to communicate the audience a message as it shows some young adults all on their phones at a beautiful place and being outside where you would think that once you go outside you would start socialising and stop using your phones.
